H&K Heckler and Koch A3 Buffer – Stock – Retractable Stock Buffer for HK MP5
These common wear items need to be replaced when they become yellow, brittle, and worn. Inspect your buffer for the following: discoloration, the buffer becomes hard and brittle, tears, cracks, or breakages of any part of the buffer.
Replacement of the H buffer on your A3 stock:
- Use a set of needle nose pliers or flat head screwdriver to remove all the existing “H” buffer. In most cases, you have to remove the old buffer a piece at a time.
- Place the buffer in boiling water for several minutes or until the buffer becomes pliable.
- Press the new buffer in the opening in the back of the A3 stock until the buffer sits flush with the backplate. You may need to use a dowel to help push the buffer into place.
